Jinia is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Florida Qualified Supervisor with a passion for providing the utmost quality of services to children, adolescents, young adults, and families presenting with a variety of emotional, social, and behavioral concerns.
Jinia hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Barry University. Jinia has over 15 years of experience in the field of social work and mental health counseling. She specializes in the treatment of individuals struggling with mental health disorders, individual with special needs, sexually abused victims, foster children, victims of child trafficking, victims of Haiti 2010 Earthquake and wounded warriors diagnosed with PTSD. Jinia also has experience working with mothers suffering from postpartum depression.
She has been utilizing skills from treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Jinia is trained in Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Culturally Informed & Flexible Family Based Treatment for Adolescents.
Jinia has an empathic and genuine ability to connect which allows her to work effectively with her clients. She also incorporates client’s spiritual beliefs into the treatment protocol to holistically address their needs. Jinia’s clinical vision is consistent with Little Miss Proverbs 31 “Preparing girls to achieve the unimaginable.”
In her personal time, she enjoys traveling and attending music and art events. Jinia is fluent in the Haitian-Creole language and has developed multicultural sensitivity. Her evidence-based approach allows her to effectively address emotional and behavioral issues for clients from diverse backgrounds. Jinia is currently employed at Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center as the Youth and Family Counselor/Strengthen Families Program.
